Woman Critical After Fall From Hooters' Balcony 4-08-2010 Donna RossiReporter, KPHO.com TEMPE, Ariz.Police said a woman fell from the second floor of a Hooters restaurant in downtown Tempe Wednesday night. The victim, now identified as Tabitha Farmer, was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition, CBS 5 News reported. Tempe police interviewed several witnesses and said there was no indication that Farmer, 26, was intentionally pushed. Investigators believe Farmer was sitting up on the guardrail when she fell. Authorities said they could not confirm how much, if any, alcohol the woman may have consumed before the fall. Kate Bondurant, a bartender at a nearby establishment, said she rushed over to help because she has medical training. She said another paramedic who was in the area also helped. Bondurant said Farmer did not have a pulse and was turning blue. "Within a few minutes we got her pulse back. A few minutes later we got her breathing on her own again. Besides the internal bleeding causing problems, we were able to keep her breathing on her own for the next 5 minutes," said Bondurant. A Hooters district manager was on site Thursday but he refused to answer any question. Tempe building code requires a second floor guardrail to be at least 42 inches high. According to the remodeling plans of the building the houses Hooters, the guardrails put in are 42 inches.
